Job Description


Job Overview:


Under supervision of the Sr IT Solutions Desk Manager, the ITS Training and Communications Specialist will coordinate with Board staff opportunities to learn and utilize IT solutions. These communication efforts include but are not limited to developing training content for distribution on the LearningHub or delivery by Board trainers, drafting and editing emails, brochures, articles, videos, and presentations to inform Board employees and contractors of IT events.


What you will be doing:


•     Identifies IT training needs by evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of targeted users to increase utilization of IT solutions.

•     Translates requirements into training that will assist user departments fully benefit from the IT solutions. 

•     Works closely with the Sr IT Solutions Desk Manager to build annual training programs and prepare teaching plans.

•     Develops production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals for IT training.

•     Assesses IT training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques and ongoing reinforcement. 

•     Directs structured learning experiences and monitors results through service level agreements, key performance indicators, and goals.

•     Assist in development of ad hoc communications via a myriad of channels to Board employees based on imperative needs such as IT incidents, system outages, scheduled maintenance, etc. 

•     Supports Business Technology Partner staff (BTP) by serving as resource on IT projects to ensure broad awareness of project status, implementation timelines, and the overall impact of new solutions.

•     Develops and provides recurring IT communications and training content that support IT initiatives, assists end-users in becoming more productive through technology, and increases the utilization of Board software and technical assets. 

•     Executes IT training sessions, webinars, workshops, utilizing progressive technology in groups and individually. 

•     Familiarity of traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques to conduct IT related training utilizing the IT training lab, department work areas, and conference rooms to Accommodate the customer’s needs. 


What you need:


•     Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Communication, Finance, Project Management, Organizational Strategy, or a related field.

•     Three (3) years of professional experience in business communications and/or training.

•     Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.

•     Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

      •     Advanced Microsoft Excel/Report & Query Writer


What we desire:


•     Certification in training CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer).
