Responsibilities

Job Overview

As an Environmental Analyst, you will support DFW’s environmental emergency response, ramp cleanliness, deicing, hazardous waste and remediation programs. This position will directly support the Environmental Emergency Response Manager.  Assist with the newly created ramp cleanliness program to protect stormwater runoff from litter, chemicals, and leachates.  Help advance DFW’s North Star Goals for zero waste and water/biodiversity by building awareness and improving waste handling practices among airport tenants within the Air Operations Area (AOA).   

What you will be doing:

  • Work closely with contractor responsible for ramp cleanliness requirements.  Perform inspection and schedule and track ramp cleaning activities.
  • Respond/coordinate responses to environmental emergency calls during workday and after hours as needed.
  • Document spill response activities in Airport’s databases.
  • Assist with training of Environmental Affairs Department staff on emergency response and deicing procedures.
  • Performs trend analyses and monitor performance metrics.
  • Performs regular inspections of facilities and surrounding areas to identify maintenance, appearance, and cleanliness issues inconsistent with standards.
  • Assesses work in progress to ensure compliance with contract, safety and appearance standards; follows up with responsible parties to resolve open issues.
  • Assist with collection and preparation for disposal of hazardous and universal wastes.
  • Assist the remediation program as needed with required soil and groundwater sampling activities.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences, environmental science, engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in environmental operations, environmental analysis, or environmental program administration.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted to the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
