Job Overview

DFW Airport is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer for this Infrastructure Engineer position. In this role, you will coordinate and manage the activities of contractors and consultants involved in performing infrastructure assessments, studies and/or the development of renewal projects. Under the general direction of the Infrastructure Manager, you will plan and conduct infrastructure assessments of the Airport’s Electrical Power Distribution system including Switch Gears, Main tie Main, Switch Boards, Breakers, Transformers, UPS, and all other Electrical Circuitry components. Ensuring proper life cycle maintenance and compliance with regulatory and building code requirements, uses engineering principles and appropriate management practices. 

What you will be doing:

  • Perform professional assessments of the condition of Airport electrical  systems and prepares long-range plans for maintenance, repair, and modernization.
  • Assist staff in the proper maintenance and operation of facilities and systems through training, development of maintenance programs and technical assistance in analyzing and solving problems.
  • Investigate and recommend appropriate action for facility and system failures, abnormal maintenance requirements, and for the applicability of new materials, equipment, and techniques for maintenance applications.
  • Review and analyze technical aspects of designs,  electrical building information models, specifications, bids and proposals and monitors project progression from design to completion and closeout.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Five (5) years of experience in planning, designing, and managing construction projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain registration within 2 years of employment.
  • Technical specialization area or academic discipline may be specified by the department.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
