Qualifications

Job Overview:

Under the general direction of the AVP of Community Engagement, acts as liaison and supports the Board of Directors governance process and relationship with the Owner Cities, including oversight and responsibility for issues identification and processes between the Board of Directors, Executive Staff and the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Works with AVP to define and align the agenda of the Owner Cities with the DFW Airport’s strategic business objectives and policy outcomes.
  • Manages and coordinates the Owner City Approval process, including drafting of background documents, materials, placement on Owner City Agenda, and briefing presentations as necessary.
  • Support the Board Secretary in managing the Official Board Actions/Resolutions process and related information, as necessary to ensure established deadlines are met.
  • Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with other Board departments, owner city elected officials and staff, airlines, tenants, government officials, etc.
  • Develops and conducts on-boarding or orientation sessions for new Board members and local elected officials.
  • Acts as a point of contact with Owner City staff, Board members, Board staff and the general public, including researching and responding to information requests.
  • Attends relevant city meetings and events.
  • Support the Board Secretary as serving as the back-up when Board Secretary is absent.

 

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, political science, communications, community outreach, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional-level experience in public/government/legislative affairs environment
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience to equal two (2) years of work experience for one (1) year of education may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

  • Well-connected and savvy within the industry.
  • Marketing/Community outreach experience.            

 

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

•     Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et. Al. and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
