Job Overview

As the Sr. Associate Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Airport’s development and execution of communication initiatives, both internal and external, and general project direction and implementation as outlined below, along with any other needed support. You will also leverage data analytics to understand the readership of internal and external audiences to support the development of engaging communications.  Under the general direction of the Senior Communications & Marketing Manager, you will work collaboratively with other departments to identify opportunities and challenges of how best to share news and stories with given audiences

 

What you will be doing:

  • Identify, collect, develop and write content for employee intranet, digital signs, posters, emails and other communications channels.
  • Assist with the development and execution of communication plans to support a variety of organizational objectives; communication plans include identification of various audiences, development of key messages and methods of communication.
  • Assist with developing, implementing and analyzing communications metrics and their associated tools to provide data-driven solutions for internal communications channels.
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to identify external opportunities to promote internal messaging and news.
  • Serve as project manager for some, smaller internal communications initiatives.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience with a public relations agency or in a corporate communications department with primary responsibilities in employee communications, media relations or reputation management.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

What we desire:

  • Previous experience in communications; digital, internal and/or external, through internship or university projects
  • Digitally savvy
