Job Overview

Guest Service Leader

As a Transportation Guest Service Leader at DFW International Airport, you will supervise a team of professional commercial bus operators using 35' and 46' commercial buses. You will be responsible for monitoring first-line customer service and bus transportation for special events and tours. You will also directly contribute to the airport's continued growth of our core of business by overseeing off-gate bus operations. You'll have the opportunity and rewarding challenge to work on the airfield interacting with travelers from all over the world.

What you will be doing:

Meaningfully contribute to the mission accomplishment of a high performing team by:

  • Supervising the daily bus operations on the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) to support irregular operations, emergency response, and airline hardstand bus events.
  • Conducting data collection and integration on passenger counts, mileage/time logs, malfunction, and accident reports to ensure equipment is safe and passenger counts are being kept.
  • Overseeing team-oriented efforts including fueling and cleaning buses and staff vehicles daily.
  • Proactively responding to customer injuries and emergencies and act as initial point of contact during these events and relays emergency information to appropriate persons.

What you need:

Great attitude along with the courage to learn and share best practice and must include:  

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years' experience in a customer service role.
  • Possession of a Class B or Class A Commercial driver's license with a passenger (P) endorsement.
  • Knowledge of the organization and functions of the Airport Board.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, systems, and equipment.
  • Ability to work hours determined by rotating shift assignments.
  • Ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively.
  • Ability to supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to plan and organize.
  • Ability to work under distractions and to think and act quickly in emergencies.
  • Ability to maintain effective and harmonious internal and external working relationships.

What we desire:

  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
  • Must obtain Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection (CBP) security access clearance within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for CBP security access clearance upon each CBP security access renewal.
  • This is a DOT-designated and Airport-designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass drug and alcohol tests prior to employment and to submit to drug and alcohol screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
  • Must have a documented good private driving record: (a) no more than two (2) convictions of moving violations in the last 36 months and (b) no DWI convictions in the last 60 months.
