Job Overview
Are you skilled in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic systems? We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Radio & Mobile Electronic Systems Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for a range of tasks including troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining mobile electronic equipment and systems, ensuring reliable communication infrastructure.
What you will be doing:
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot, install, program, monitor, repair, and maintain mobile electronic equipment and systems.
- Radio Maintenance: Maintain DPS Console radios, American Airlines Departures AM radio transmitter, and all stationary 800MHz Board radios.
- System Upgrades: Perform communication system upgrades or modifications using a laptop computer with appropriate application software.
- Circuit Testing: Test electronic circuits to locate defective communication and mobile system components using oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, spectrum generators, spectrum analyzers, and RF service monitors.
- Component Replacement: Replace defective components, wiring, and adjust electronic parts to specifications using hand tools, special equipment, and soldering irons.
- Technical Documentation: Read, interpret, and work from schematics, drawings, and systems technical specifications.
- Project Coordination: Assist project managers in coordinating work performed by contractors on assigned systems.
- Design Support: Assist design engineers in developing specifications on assigned systems.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests, as required by Federal and Board regulations.
- Environmental Compliance: Assist the Environmental Affairs Department in performing field observations of Airport activities with respect to potential environmental issues and notify the department of any observations that may have environmental impact.
What you need:
- Education: Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment.
- Training/Certification: Formal training/certification in general electronics.
- License: Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
- Equivalent Combination: Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
