We're looking for a dedicated Electronics Supervisor to join our team at [DFW Airport] and lead in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cutting-edge electronic systems. What you will be doing:
- Leadership: Plan, schedule, assign, inspect, supervise, and actively participate in the work of electronics technicians. Evaluate the performance of the team and provide guidance.
- Technical Assistance: Review plans and specifications, contribute to preparing specifications for new or modified electronics systems, and provide technical assistance to other departments on electronics matters.
- Coordination: Coordinate electronics shop activities with other shops, departments, and contractors. Establish priorities and adjust schedules to meet emergency demands.
- Inventory Management: Locate and requisition parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Monitor supply levels and coordinate with the warehouse and purchasing to maintain adequate stock.
- Tool Oversight: Use power, hand, and precision tools, and oversee the care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Documentation: Estimate requirements, record actual time and materials expended on projects, and maintain related records and reports.
- Contractor Coordination: Monitor and coordinate work performed by contractors related to outside services.
- Budget Management: Prepare annual budget requests and monitor electronics shop expenditures.
- Inspections: Perform inspections on all electronic systems within DFW Airport, including traffic signals, UPS systems, airfield temperature sensors, and gate genies. Maintain a log of all inspections.
What you need:
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment, including two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role.
- Training: Formal training in general electronics.
- Certifications: Must pass pre-employment medical physical, hearing exam with audiogram, and vision exam with a color deficiency test.
- Driver's License: Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
- Airport Requirements: Obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge and meet initial and recurrent training requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Must comply with drug and alcohol screening as a safety-sensitive position.

- Technical Knowledge: Understand the principles, practices, equipment, materials, and methods of electronics installation. Knowledge of traffic signal control devices, access control systems, and related field equipment.
- Software Proficiency: Able to work with software, systems, and services used to maintain and control operational assets and equipment.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions associated with electronics.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and airport rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Supervisory Skills: Skill in supervising, scheduling, and inspecting the work of subordinates. Evaluate performance and maintain work records.
- Communication: Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions. Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
