Job Overview
As the Strategic Program and Business Development Manager, you will manage the implementation of passenger and cargo business development commercial and operational activities with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve departmental goals. Under general direction of the Vice President Airline Relations and Cargo, plans and directs the management of multiple, concurrent strategic programs and projects throughout the various life-cycle stages, and works with business unit leaders to set goals based on the organization's strategic objectives
What you will be doing:
- Manages complex program activities with other business units across the organization and with external stakeholders as required and coordinates tasks and responsibilities across cross-functional teams.
- Directs the end-to-end project cycle for the division to ensure they all align effectively with the organization's objectives and goals, including creating division dashboards, tracking methodology and reporting capabilities.
- Builds budgets for the division's programs and develops project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for highly complex programs.
- Creates long- and short-term plans from start to finish, including identifying processes, setting targets, and establishing milestones and deadlines.
- Creates the project scope and goals, assignment of tasks, and identifies potential project risks and liabilities for resolution.
- Establishes quality control guidelines throughout the project life cycle and provides enhanced decision-making capabilities through data gathering, analysis, and presenting considerations to relevant stakeholders.
- Leads as the division's point of contact for teams when multiple departments are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain aligned with program objectives and organizational goals.
- Designs and creates the program evaluations method to effectively review and assess the strengths of the program and to determine any corrections or areas of improvement.
- Manages the annual budget cycle process for the department's entire budget ensuring cost efficiency and detailed accuracy in partnership with the division department controller.
- Collaborates with other departments such as marketing, corporate communications, and finance to align business development strategies with overall organizational objectives to achieve goals.
- Manages the budget for all passenger and air cargo business development activities globally including all sales and promotional programs, conferences, and manages relationships with strategic trade associations.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or related field.
- Five (5) years of experience developing project plans and tracking results to plan.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
Desirable:
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Project Management Certification or equivalent
