If so, we want you to be part of our Energy & Utilities Services team at DFW Airport! We're on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Instrumentation and Controls Technician who is passionate about precision and reliability.
What you will be doing:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair advanced control systems and instrumentation across our thermal energy production, distribution, and ancillary systems. Your work will ensure that our utilities are always operating at peak efficiency.
- Read and interpret complex schematics and diagrams to install and maintain control systems. You'll use your technical expertise to modify equipment and improve energy efficiency, operational safety, and system monitoring.
- Test and repair faulty components using state-of-the-art test equipment. You'll calibrate instruments to N.I.S.T. standards and ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Assist in supervising, training, and inspecting the work of Instrumentation and Controls Technicians, ensuring the team is aligned and performing at their best.
- Participate in designing, developing, and implementing system changes and upgrades, helping us stay ahead of the curve in technology and efficiency.
- Keep detailed records of all repairs, calibrations, and tests to maintain compliance and ensure operational transparency.
- Write or modify computer programs that support system functionality and enhancements.
- Be ready to respond to system issues outside of normal working hours, ensuring our operations are never compromised.
What you need:
- Education: Associate degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: At least five (5) years of maintenance and repair experience on microprocessor-based pneumatic/electronic instrumentation and control systems.
- Technical Knowledge: Experience in industrial power plant maintenance, including high-pressure boilers, electrical distribution systems, HVAC, and chemical water treatment.
- Certifications: Possession of one of the following:
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex technical documents, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency in maintaining and repairing a wide range of instrumentation.
- Physical Ability: Ability to pass a color vision deficiency test and medical physical examination.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work on-call outside of normal operating hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license
