Job Overview
Under general supervision, interfaces daily with the Program Manager in planning, managing and enhancing the development of DFW Airport's Water Resource program which includes improving environmental performance in areas related to water quality, watershed protection, industrial wastewater management, conservation, stormwater compliance, and pretreatment. The Project Manager supports Program Manager in implementation of Environmental Affairs¿ leadership role in DFW's Sustainability Policy, Environmental Management System, and Environmental Policy.
What you will be doing:
- Improve DFW¿s overall environmental performance by ensuring environmental aspects related to stormwater compliance, watershed protection, water conservation, and wastewater treatment are conducted in a manner compliant with all environmental regulations and align with the Airport's sustainability plan.
- Ensure effective execution of DFW Airport's Stormwater Management Plan, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and associated state permits.
- Oversees internal staff and other consultants in the planning, proactive needs analysis, management and scheduling of projects in accordance with airport and environmental affairs design criteria and codes and reports any concerns/issues to the Program Manager.
- Assists in development of contractual scopes of work, contractual provisions, Official Board Actions and other documentation necessary for procurement process related to retaining consultants, contractors, and supporting Airport capital projects.
- Develops project task lists to define scope of work and budgets and schedules each task of the project task list.
- Collaborate with various airport stakeholders (airport employees, tenants, contractors, and general public) to implement/utilize more sustainable practices, low impact design, and innovative technologies.
- Lead and participate in environmental field investigations and oversee the work of analysts, consultants, or contractors.
- Works primarily in an office environment; frequently making site visits. Occasionally works outdoors in inclement weather.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in physical or life sciences, environmental science, engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of professional experience in environmental operations, environmental analysis or environmental program administration.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
What we desire:
- Certification in any of the following: Project Management Professional (PMP), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), and/or Envision.
- Experience utilizing a broad range of various GIS and environmental software applications to assist with evaluating environmental aspects
Special requirements:
- This is a designated essential employee position as defined in the Categories and Classifications of Employees Policy of the Airport Administrative Policy and Procedure. This is defined as an employee whose attendance is required to maintain airport operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
- Department may designate specific area(s) of environmental experience.
- Licenses and certifications required by state and federal agencies for the performance of these job duties must be obtained within the time specified by department. Failure to do so may result in termination of employment.
- Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et. Al. and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
- This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug screening test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
- Fulfill all training requirements and activities in accordance with Title 14 CFR Part 139 and Administrative Policy AO.014.01, Ground Vehicle Driver Training for Air Operations Area.
