Job Overview

As the Assistant Vice President of Concessions, you will develop strategy for process improvement in areas of lease management, lease compliance, financial analysis, tenant projects, revenue support functions and drive to implement organizational goals across the department and with business partners. You will assist in developing concessions business plan to maximize concessions program revenues, lead development of large projects and ability to manage multiple projects.  Under direction of the Vice President of Concessions you will assist in developing and managing all contracts, leases and business intelligence for passenger-related concessions, advertising and sponsorships within the airport terminals, rental car, passenger services enhancements, telecommunications, and selected airport properties outside the terminals including gas/convenience stores.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Assists in directing, developing, and managing revenue contracts such as food, beverage, retail, rental car, and advertising for the Airport that best meet the customer needs. Reviews and recommends changes to lease documents, structures concession promotions for optimal results and analyzes outcome and manages lease compliance controls and quality controls.
  • Develops strategic direction to maximize non-aviation revenues and increase customer satisfaction by using research to understand the customer's needs
  • Prepares department budget requests and business plans and administers the approved budget. Assists in managing the developmental income projections, space planning, space design.
  • Coordinates with the Planning and Marketing Departments, as well as various other departments for space planning, to identify trends and locations for food/beverage, retail, and passenger services, and identifies opportunities to maximize revenues and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Administers consultant contracts, conducts public meetings, and coordinates the process for selection of concessionaires.
  • Works closely with the Business Development and Diversity Department in achieving objectives as adopted from time to time by the Airport.
  • Administers the provisions of the Use Agreement governing the Airport as related to revenue programs. Responsible for closing any audit issues as identified by the Audit department and Vice President of Concessions.
  • Reviews and edits Letters of Proposal, Requests for Proposal, Invitations for Bid, and Requests for Qualification.
  • Reviews the business and financial plans of existing concessions and commercial activities to determine the short- and long- term healthiness of the business and to assist concessionaires in preparing budgets and in determining the impact of changes in product lines, display methods or facilities on financial performance.
  • Uses innovative principals while working across the organization, peer departments and team members to accomplish goals targeted at the customer needs. Leads the business process improvement methods and evaluates success of such which will require working closely with ITS
  • Selects, trains, supervises, motivates, and evaluates personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Category management, Commercial Real Estate, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of management experience in project management, finance, or corporate real estate. Management experience in the food and beverage industry above the manager level, in retail mall, shopping centers or similar retail operations, airport management, or hotel/travel industry.
  • Four (4) years of supervisory experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
  • This role may require work outside of typical business hours, and/or weekends as operationally required
