Job Overview
Join our team as an Electrician I and help us light up the skies by assisting in the installation, repair, and servicing of electrical systems on our Board-managed facilities.
What you will be doing:
- Assists in the inspection, servicing and repair of illuminated signs, roadway and parking area lighting, and traffic signal systems.
- Removes and replaces ballasts, transformers, capacitors, sockets, starters, fuses, lamps in lighting systems and trouble shoots PLC circuits.
- Assists in the repair and replacement of parts in motors, generators, switchboards, regulators, controlĀlers and control circuits.
- Assists with the location of ground faults and repairs or replaces damaged cables using equipment and tools.
- Assists with rebuilding and replacing electric security gate components such as controllers, rollers, loop detectors and card readers.
- Assists with performing airfield photometric testing, underground line locates, and monthly emergency generator testing.
- Uses blueprints, technical manuals, and test equipment to troubleshoot problems and make repairs under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor.
- Identifies materials, components and equipment required to complete work.
- Assists with troubleshooting and repairing solid waste compactors, small appliances and other small electric equipment.
- Participates in Airport winter weather operations as required.
- Works at various heights up to 100 feet using power-lift equipment.
What you need:
- Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience in airfield, industrial or commercial electrical systems or related field.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
- Possession of an Apprentice Electrician license issued by the State of Texas.
- Ability to work rotating shift assignments.
- Ability to pass a color vision deficiency test.
- Ability to pass a medical physical examination.
- Possession of written portion of the Class B CDL upon three (3) months of hiring and must pass the driving portion of the test within twelve (12) months of the hire date. Operator's licenses with an "L" restriction are not acceptable.
