Salary Range - $77,000 - $95,000 (Based on Experience)

Job Overview

Under general direction of the Assistant Fire Chief, implements innovative and engaging interactive design solutions to enhance the effectiveness of both new and existing training programs. The primary focus is on computer-based and web-based instructional design methodologies. Conducts market research, planning, directing, and producing multimedia elements and concepts. Proficiency in a variety of multimedia software is essential to address the training and multimedia requirements of DFW's Fire Training Research Center (FTRC) for global delivery. Possesses a deep understanding of web platforms to oversee all aspects, including concept development, design, and editing, while selecting the most suitable format to align with the FTRC's national and international marketing goals. Additionally, managing the programming of the DFW Fire Training Research Network (FTRN) is part of the responsibilities, encompassing audio/visual recordings and graphics needed for global content distribution.

What you will be doing:

  1. Create visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and other design elements for various projects, including videos, websites, marketing materials, and print collateral.
  2. Ensure that design work aligns with the organization's branding guidelines and maintains a consistent visual identity.
  3. Plan, script, and storyboard video projects to communicate messages effectively.
  4. Edit and assemble raw footage into a polished video product, incorporating visual effects, graphics, and sound. Enhance video quality through color correction, sound editing, and other post-production techniques.
  5. Collaborate with clients or stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide design solutions that meet their objectives. Collaborate with team members to brainstorm and develop creative design concepts
  6. Conduct quality checks on final video products to ensure they meet technical specifications and align with creative objectives.
  7. Manage multiple design and video production projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project timelines.
  8. Identify and resolve technical and creative challenges that may arise during the design and video production process.
  9. Works with various DFW Airport approved social media sites to update course offerings and training activities.
  10. Develops, manages, and tracks budgets related to instructional technology development and delivery. Ensures resources are used effectively and efficiently. Manage video equipment, ensuring it is well-maintained and up to date.

What you need:

  • Bachelor degree in Instructional Technology, Graphic Design, Interactive Design, Multimedia Design, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in advanced multimedia design in a learning & development/training environment
  • Possession of a valid Class C drivers license

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and programming/scripting with HTML, XML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Proficient in Adobe Flash Camtasia, Screen Flow, Jing, Googledocs, Voicethread, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, HTML5,CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Ability to use graphic, video, and audio editing using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, and Pro Tools
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of multimedia/web site design and implementation, including hardware, software, communications standards and documentation.
  • Ability to utilize graphics and editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Ability to utilize video editing tools such as Final Cut Pro, Motion and Adobe Premier.
  • Ability to utilize audio editing tools such as Avid Pro Tools and Pro Logic.

Desirable

  • Experience working with Avigilon High-Definition camera system or comparable video systems
