Job Overview
Under general supervision of the Airport Security Assistant Manager, ensures that Aircraft Operations Area (AOA) gates, terminal and roving security patrols, and other designated locations are always properly staffed with the correct number of security officers required per shift. Ensures that all security employees are properly trained and that employees adhere to posted procedures.
What you will be doing:
- Supervises security personnel at multiple locations; schedules employees for each shift to ensure that all field operations, including but not limited to security post buildings, terminal and roving patrols are properly manned at all times with the correct number of security officers required; approves work schedule changes/exchanges and ensures changes/exchanges are kept to a minimum to prevent lost time and overtime.
- Trains all shift employees in accordance with the established standard operating procedures; ensures procedures are properly posted and employees adhere to posted procedures; recommends changes and updates to standard operating procedures and training.
- Selects, trains, counsels, disciplines, and evaluates performance of staff; monitors employees' daily time and attendance on shift; maintains attendance records and reviews and approves timesheets.
- Performs daily checks of field operations during shift to ensure all security employees are performing their duties in a proper manner and that all security equipment is in proper functioning order.
- Coordinate all maintenance requests to ensure proper security of the AOA and the welfare of ASD personnel.
What you need:
- Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- Four (4) years of security services or comparable experience.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
- Has not been convicted of a Class "B" misdemeanor within the last ten years or any offense greater than a Class "B".
- Ability to pass mandatory Transportation Security Administration (TSA) required security training.
- Must pass a criminal history background investigation.
- Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et al., and DFW Airport's Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
- This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
Desirable:
- One (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory position.
