Job Overview:
Under general direction of Assistant Vice President, Procurement and Materials Management (P&MM), plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates administrative functions within the P&MM department. Supervision is exercised directly or through subordinate supervisory personnel over assigned areas. Work is reviewed through conferences and reports.
What you will be doing:
- Confers with Assistant Vice President of Procurement and Materials Management on policies, programs, and activities, and makes policy recommendations; acts for Assistant Vice President in all matters as requested.
- Assists the Assistant Vice President with the administrative functions of the department, including policies and procedures, personnel matters, and in managing, planning, and supervising the activities of the department.
- Manages the development of written recommendations (Official Board Actions) and reports for Board committees and plans and schedules activities to meet the demands of the monthly board cycle.
- Participates in and manages departmental and non-departmental budget requests and assists in the administration of approved budgets.
- Develops, prepares, and implements procurement related training sessions for Board departments and outside organizations as appropriate.
- Studies and disseminates information to subordinates concerning federal and state laws and regulations, Board policies and market trends.
- Develops and recommends forms, systems, and procedures in accordance with existing policies and laws.
- Coordinates departmental process improvement projects; coordinates and maintains department metrics; manages special projects as required.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible, broad purchasing experience.
- Master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the above-stated experience.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience, OR Two (2) years of experience as a Senior Contract Administrator or Contract Administrator for the D/FW Airport Board.
- Possession of a valid class C driver's license.
What we desire:
- Experience in the use of ERP Systems such as Oracle E-Business Suite Applications.
- Knowledge of Business Objects or other report writer applications.
