Qualifications

Job Overview:

Under general direction of the Assistant Vice President, ITS Infrastructure, directs, coordinates, develops, procures, installs, and maintains facilities that enhance radio communications, Public Address / Voice Evacuation (PA/VE) and Fire Alarm systems at DFW. The areas of focus include but are not limited to airline proprietary systems; RF communications as they occur now; and as technological advances transform RF communications, guide DFW in policy and practice, leading the Airport in subject matter expertise. Ensures that work performed addresses goals and performance objectives and complies with Airport Board policies and procedures. Work involves extensive contact and coordination with Airport Board staff, vendors, contractors, and outside agencies.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Develops, maintains deploys systems that facilitate the smooth operation of DFW Airport Terminals, specifically, but not limited to, critical communication systems in the areas of passenger services, airfield operations, life safety, security and radio communications.
  • Assists the Assistant Vice-President of lT Systems Operations in planning and organizing activities of the section, including scheduling and assigning work to meet completion dates and estimated resource needs.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages the development, operation, and maintenance of various control systems to meet the Board's information technology strategic plan.
  • Provides advice and guidance to departments in the development, acquisition, and maintenance of specialized systems.
  • Participates in budget, staff, and resource planning; researches, evaluates, and recommends systems and equipment to meet the section needs.
  • Plans, monitors, and supervises the activities of subordinates in the areas of radio communication systems, and related technologies.
  • Develops and implements training programs to ensure that staff remain current in the latest technology and maintain a high competence level in areas of responsibility.
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations, participates in personnel reviews, aids in career development, and interviews prospective employees

  • Knowledge of and experience in system design, development, and implementation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of and experience in LAN and WAN design and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Life Safety systems
  • Knowledge of and experience with airline proprietary radio communication systems and experience in P25, EDACS, LTE, and OpenSky radio communication technologies.    

 

 

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

 

  • Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et. Al. and DFW Airport¿s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
