Job Overview

Do you have a passion for organizing information? You can manage a team that provides guidance around the established retention and disposition schedule. You will ensure the team follows all the federal and state laws and board policies regarding the proper storage, preservation, archiving and disposition of physical and electronic records at DFW. You will also work closely with all departments across the airport with their record keeping handling.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing consultation and guidance to departments and management in meeting state and federal laws regarding all formats of records and provides policy guidelines for compliance
  • Managing and maintaining an Archives Program to ensure the permanent preservation of historically valuable records of the Board
  • Directing and administering short and long-term policy and procedures for Board-wide Records Management; oversees funding for effective records management for all Board department
  • Analyzing, evaluating and making written recommendations to Board staff regarding all areas of records management, including electronic records, image management and archival/vital records management
  • Planning, formulating and implementing Board-wide policy regarding records disposition, systems, standards and procedures to meet the current and long-term needs of the Board.
  • Managing the RIM team’s daily retention/disposition duties, including providing strategic guidance on enterprise document management.

What you need:

•     Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field.

•     Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a professional records manager.

•     Three (3) year of supervisory experience.

•     Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.

•     Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

What we desire:

  • Knowledge of the principles, standard practices and current rules, regulations, laws of advanced records management
  • Knowledge of state (Texas State Library and Archives) and federal regulations pertaining to public sector records management.
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of professional and paraprofessional staff.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise document management systems including cloud-based electronic records management systems and capabilities.
