Qualifications

Job Overview

As a Facilities Services Supervisor in the Energy, Transportation and Asset Management department, you will ensure that the over 259 facilities are being serviced appropriately and according to the service contract specifications. You will use your knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing to conduct analysis of the systems and facilities to ensure they are maintained correctly.

What you will be doing:

•     Helps develop contract technical specifications; coordinates and monitors contract activities; modifies and monitors contract processing procedures and activities; reviews contract requests and proposals.

•     Establishes contract performance benchmarks; evaluates contractor’s performance against contract standards.

•     Conducts periodic inspections of facilities to review work in progress.

•     Coordinates activities with Quality Control Technicians (QCT’s) and contractors; establishes priorities and adjusts schedules to meet regular and emergency demands.

•     Evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of Contractor’s quality or inspection system.

What you need:

  • Associate degree in a business or engineering related field or successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship or trade school as an electrician, industrial plant operator, HVAC mechanic, facility technician or custodian.  Specific experience requirements will vary depending on position vacancy.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working in or supervising facility maintenance or custodial services, depending on specific position vacancy:
    • Electrical/Electronic Services Coordinator position prefers experience in repair and maintenance of electrical/electronic systems including but not limited to normal electrical trade and Automated Access Control Systems (AACS), Fire Alarm, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), and Communications systems and associated equipment.
    • Mechanical Services Coordinator position prefers experience in repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, security and structural systems and equipment.
    • Custodial Services Coordinator prefers experience in performing custodial services in multiple high use facilities
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience to equal one (1) year of work experience for one (1) year of education may be substituted for the above
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

•     Ability to coordinate, schedule and inspect contractors and to evaluate their performance.

•     Ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships at all levels, both within and outside of the organization.

•     Three (3) years supervisory experience.
