Job Overview

The Administrative Assistant II will be a member of DFW Airport Board’s Human Resources (HR) Department and will be the first face guests see when they enter the department. The Administrative Assistant II will provide high-level administrative support to three Assistant Vice Presidents (AVPs) in Human Resources by handling information requests, preparing reports, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing great customer service to current and potential DFW Airport employees as they visit the HR department.
  • Helping your clients (three AVPs in HR) to be successful by handling much of the day-to-day administrative functions in a timely manner.
  • Processing expense reports, managing calendars, preparing for meetings, arranging travel, distributing department mail, and work on special projects that support department goals.
  • Helping your clients look awesome by creating or proofreading documents using tools like MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Transcribing live conversations in meetings into written form.
  • Taking initiative to improve processes and impact the department.
  • Proactively resolving conflicts behind the scene.
  • Anticipating business needs of the individuals you support

What you need:

  • Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of administrative experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Position requires that the applicant has not been convicted of a Felony, Class A and/or Class B Misdemeanor criminal offense.
  • Position requires that the applicant has not been convicted of any family violence offense.

  • Composition of routine correspondence using good business vocabulary and proper English grammar and construction.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective and harmonious internal and external working relationships.
  • Displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude
