Job Overview

As the Construction Permit Manager, you will manage the permit process to ensure scope, objective, deliverables, and work plans provide minimal negative impact to Airport operations and you will facilitate the issuance of Certificate of Occupancy and monitors all permit close- out processes.  Under general supervision of the Senior Construction Facilitation Manager, coordinates, manages, and oversees the permit and inspection process from application, issuance, scheduling inspections, and close out.  Exercises considerable latitude for unsupervised action or decision in the coordination of permit activities, ensuring that all needs of all interested parties are met with respect to safety, security, and impact on the Airport’s operation and infrastructure.

What you will be doing:

•    Supervise Permit Coordinator and the permit process in order to expedite permit applications, schedules required inspections, perform permit close out, and   issuance of certificate of occupancy

•     Manage permit applications, construction drawings submittals, schedule code inspectors for inspections, verify certified cost of inspections, and provide monthly   reports to Senior manager staff on permit application status, permit fee status, and Certificate of Occupancy’s issued. 

•     Schedule and conduct the pre-construction meeting for all permitted construction projects to advise project managers, tenants and their contractors of inspection  and submittal requirements and regulations for security, safety and environmental issues, including those associated DFW Design Criteria Manual and code   requirements.

•    Collect permit and plan review fees, forward collected fees to the Finance Department, maintain spreadsheet of collected fees for monthly reconciliation with   spreadsheet maintained by Permits Administrator.

What you need:

•     Bachelor’s degree in construction management or business or related area.

•     Five (5) years of experience in construction inspection or related field.

•     Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above.

•     Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
