Job Overview

As the Code Inspector Manager, you will work with Permit Manager to ensure permits and inspections are scheduled, performed, and resulted also, you will monitor projects taking place on airport property, and associated permits issued, to ensure that state and Board regulations are followed. Under general supervision of the Senior Construction Facilitation Manager, supervises code plan review and inspections personnel. In addition, assists with the review, inspection, and approval of newly constructed or modified facilities open to public and serve as a liaison to supervise and manage code interpretation and application of code issues. 

What you will be doing:

•     Review submittals for new construction projects, improvements and alterations to existing facilities open to public travel throughout the airport and draft a routing list of interested parties also route submittal package and expedite the approval process

•     Ensure Airport facilities comply with adopted Code, DFW Design Criteria Manual requirements and other mandated design standards.

•     Manage and recognize questionable methods and potential quality problems during plan review and in early stages of the project and recommends changes, when appropriate, to fit site conditions better or to facilitate the construction process.

•     Lead the code inspectors by planning, developing, and delivering procedures to ensure code inspections are performed professionally and systematically to ensure that construction schedules are not impacted.

What you need:

•     Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.

•     Five (5) years of experience in Code inspections and construction document plan review.

•     Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.

•     Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above on a year-for-year basis.

•   Certification from the International Code Council (ICC) for construction inspection OR licensed by a Texas state agency to perform inspection in designated construction field, where required. (see table below).

•     Possession of a valid Class C driver's license.
