Job Overview

As an Environmental Analyst, you will work under general supervision with the Project Manager in the planning and management of DFW Airport’s Asbestos, Mold and Indoor Air Quality Program. Responsibilities will include conducting asbestos inspections, mold and IAQ investigations, collecting samples, data entry, preparing reports, and communicating results with stakeholders.  The candidate is required to demonstrate a specific understanding of TDSHS’s Texas Asbestos Health Protection Rule, and TDLR’s Mold Assessors and Remediators Rule. 

What you will be doing:

•     You will perform field investigations and inspections; performing testing and sampling of asbestos, mold, and/or air in accordance with applicable regulatory criteria and analyzing and interpreting the data.

•     You will carry collection equipment to and from collection sites.  Collection of samples involves access to remote, undeveloped, and/or unoccupied sites, and must be performed in all weather conditions.  Collections sites may require crawling, climbing ladders, and/or riding on lift to access.

•     Maintaining databases as required and preparing technical reports to a variety of state and federal agencies.

•     Prepare technical reports and presents findings in writing and in meetings/presentations to stakeholders.

•     Manage multiple projects, balance competing priorities, and ensure client’s needs are met.

What you need:

•     Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences, environmental science, engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.

•     Two (2) years of professional experience in environmental operations, environmental analysis, or environmental program administration.

•     Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted to the above.

•     Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.

What we desire:

•     TDSHS licensed Asbestos Inspector  

•     Experience with the asbestos consulting industry, including experience as an asbestos inspector, asbestos management planner, or asbestos air monitoring technician. 

•     TDLR licensed Mold Consultant 

•     Experience in conducting mold investigations and remediations 

•     Experience conducting indoor air quality investigations

•     Experience in preparing asbestos inspection reports and associated maps

•     Experience with utilizing software programs such as Access, Excel, Word, Adobe, Veoci.

•     Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Airport Identification/Access Badge (badge) in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements in Chapter 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 1500 et. Al. and DFW Airport’s Airport Security Program within thirty (30) days from date of employment and maintain qualification for a SIDA badge upon each badge renewal.
